Car Rental FAQ & Driving Tips for Jamaica

A day is measured as 24 hours for billing purposes.

No insurance is required when payment is made with a credit card that includes insurance coverage for car rentals in Jamaica. Please confirm specific coverage for Third Party Liability and Collision Waiver in Jamaica with your card provider before selecting this option — you'll need to present proof of this coverage when you pick up the rental. Otherwise, you may choose from our Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) or Third Party Insurance (TPI).

Please dial 119 if you need an ambulance or the police. Also let us know as soon as possible by calling 876-430-7334. We offer roadside assistance between Lucea and Falmouth (the VIP Airport Pickup zone), and a replacement vehicle may be delivered to the scene.

The only applicable tax is Jamaica's General Consumption Tax (GCT) of 15 percent. You'll see it updating just above the total on our online booking form. No surprises.

Some of our car rentals are tinted; some are not. If it matters to you, please indicate your preference in the “Notes” box on our booking form.

Most of our car rentals are three years or younger. We replace older models every year so you can be assured of both safety and comfort.

Our commitment to free VIP pickup is for the Montego Bay coastal region — from Falmouth (30 km east of Sangster International Airport) to Lucea (about 40 km to the west). Rental cars are supplied with a full gas tank and we ask that you return it at the same level. A refueling charge plus a service fee will be applied if the gauge is lower when you return the keys.

We don't accept payment before the first day of your rental period, and rental fees are non-refundable. Customers requesting a shorter rental period after collecting the vehicle may, at our sole discretion, be granted a “rental credit” not exceeding the value of unused days. Rental credit expires 365 days after it is issued and cannot be transferred to another driver.

All the car rentals in our fleet have automatic transmission with right-hand drive. For high-performance handling, please consider an SUV.

You'll need a valid driver's license from your home country (held for at least 1 year), a valid passport or government-issued ID, and a major credit card in the renter's name. The primary driver must be 23 years or older.
